I actually like the watch once i figured out how it worked. There is a learning curve, however I have tried a friends Garmin GPS watch which also had a learning curve. That seems pretty standard.
Pros:
- It looks and feels like a watch. (Some GPS watches make you feel almost awkward/uncomfortable in groups or on the street)
- It is VERY accurate on the steps (I’ve had step monitors that sometimes added 100-200 steps on drives, the Epson SF-110 did not add even 1 extra step after an hour of driving.)
- I like the activity tracker, rather than always seeing your activity when you look at the watch face it’s extremely clear as a watch, you press the display button and it has a summary of your steps, Kcal, distance, and % towards your goal
- It’s made for running, it allows you to set an alarm if you are falling below your goal mile runtime, it allows for laps/sprints training. (When I was in the Marine Corps this would have been perfect for improving my PFT since I would always know what I’m averaging while I was running.)
- The light is bright enough to walk through a dark room.
- It is water resistant (A must for GPS watches)
Cons
- Software could be modernized/simplified (Once you’re accustomed it it’s easy)
- I would really like the ability to switch between running and walking while the watch is engaging the satellites.
- It would be nice to have the ability to program button combinations to do specific functions
- I’m 6’4” 220lbs and the strap is on it’s last two holes (it would be nice to have different strap options)
